Must Have Items
This is Anderson in his favorite carrier. It was a Hotsling and I would fold his little body in half and squish him in. He loved it!! People would stop and look and ask if he was comfortable. Let me tell you Anderson would let you know if he was not happy!! I wanted Adalayde to like the sling like Anderson did because it held them so close. She will not go in it at all. She prefers to face out. That way her brother can entertain her!
It is funny how diffrenent my kids are. Anderson was in a carrier 24 hours a day because he cried if he was not.
I have loved having my kids in carriers. I carried Anderson in a carrier until I had Adalayde. People at the store would give me funny looks but I did'nt care because I loved having him so close. I tried to put him in one the other day. He liked it for about two seconds and then he was done. How sad my first baby is so grown up!
I think that for Adalaydes safety she will be carried for a long time!!
Warning
All baby products come with warnings. Our bouncy chair came with this warning. Do not put on elevated surfaces. Clearly this was not intended for our family. The only safe place for little Adalayde is on and elevated surface with very close supervision. Well, Anderson now climbs up on the island or table or bed to get to his sister. She finds him hilarious and that only encourages his behavior. The harder she laughs the rougher he gets. So this is why Adalayde spends almost all of her awake time in a carrier attached to her mother. I do have to say that the two of them laughing together is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I hope that he always loves her like this and that she enjoys it as much!

Uncle Brigham
Brigham came over to watch a game with Justin. When he showed up Justin was not home, I was baking rolls for neighbors, holding Adalayde who was hungry and Anderson was crying. Poor Brigham! He came in and told me that he is not very good with kids. Next thing I know he had taken Anderson and when I came down to make sure Anderson was ok I saw this. I would have to say that not only is he good with kids, he is great with Anderson. Anderson was sure happy sitting on Uncle Brighams lap chewing gum. Brigham assured me it was sugar free!! We feel so blessed to have Brigham happy and healthy and playing with our kids. Thanks Brigham for helping me out that night. You did a great job!
Andersons Gift
Anderson is learning how to go under water and pick things up off the stairs in the pool. They put goggles on him to do this. He was not a big fan so they recommended that I buy him some to have him wear in the bath so he gets use to them. Yes, homework from swimming lessons. Well, Santa heard that he needed goggles and guess what Anderson got in his stocking? He is still not sure about them but we are working on it!

Christmas Eve
We stayed home and enjoyed Christmas Eve as a family. The kids opended their first gift pajamas of course. We read The Christmas Story and off to bed! Justin and I stayed up to watch my favorite movie Scrooge. We should not watch in bed because we fell asleep. I told Justin we will have to finish it later tonight! We post Christmas pictures after we have dinner.

Smith Family Christmas Party
Pierce and Ainsley sang Santa Clause is Coming To Town. Finger pointing and toe tapping included. So funny! Pierce also performed some Karate in honor of Hanley. We will have to review video tapes to see how he compared!
This is Jacobs wife Heather and their son Carson. Carson is about 3 weeks younger than Adalayde and about 10 pounds more. He is about 98% checks. He is so cute!!
10:00 We finally came home! Anderson was done. He usually goes to bed at 7:30. I am the bedtime nazi but, I did not want to leave I was having so much fun.
Thanks to Chris and Heather for opening up their home and to Kevin, Jeri and Adrienne for all their work and to everyone that brought yummy food! We had a great time and look forward to next year!

Tummy Time
We are trying to do more tummy time with Adalayde she sleeps so well and for so long that she has rubbed a bald spot on the back of her head. I am pretty paranoid about her having a head that is not shaped right so we are doing lots of tummy time. She hates it!! I have to get down on the floor and read books to her and sing to her to get it done. The other day after she was done I came in and found Anderson doing his tummy time. It was pretty funny! He loved looking at himself in the mirror.

The Bumbo
I
Ibought this when Anderson was little and we used it a ton. I have prolonged getting this out because it is a reminder to me that my little girl is growing up! She is 4 months old today and I can hardly believe it. So for her 4 month birthday I pulled out the bumbo. She, like her brother loved it. She is acting so much older. She laughs and smiles all the time and she can roll all over the place. It is sad and exciting at the same time to watch her grow up! Can you tell they are related?
No More Monkeys Jumping On The Bed!!
Ainsley and Pierce were at my house the other day. They wanted to watch a movie on my bed so we were all in my room on the bed. Ainsley was jumping on the bed so Pierce and I were saying Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed. She still did not want to stop jumping. I told her about her cousin Stillman and how he had broken his leg jumping on the bed. She was still determined that she would not get hurt.
Well, next thing I know she had hit her mouth on the end of my bed. I grabbed her and could see that her mouth was filling up with blood. She also had food in her mouth so I could not really tell how bad the damage was. I rushed her to the kitchen sink and told her to spit. I was praying that she would not spit teeth.
Luckily no teeth came out just a mouth full of food. Her lip looked pretty bad and I said to her " that is why we don't jump on the bed". To that she responded I am'nt anymore. Poor Ainsley!
Happy Birthday Tenley
Happy Birthday to my sweet baby sister. I can't believe that it has been seven years since you were born. You were such a little miracle baby weighing just over two pounds. You were so strong and such a fighter. You are such a sweet little girl and I feel very blessed to have you in our lives. You are a wonderful sister and aunt to my two little kids! I hope that you have a wonderful day. We love you very much!
Love,
Justin, Maris, Anderson and Adalayde
P.S. We had lots of fun at your suprise party last night!
Happy Birthday Noah
